Questions About Unity

Read John 17:20-23. How do these verses help us understand that our unity as believers comes from the glory of God and also displays the glory of God?  And why?

• How does this unity show God’s love to the world?
• How do you think the Trinitarian nature of God relates to church unity?

Read 1 Corinthians 12:4-6, 12-20, 27. Given what these passages of scripture say, is there any excuse to not be connected to the body, and why not?

• Within each local congregation, why do you think it is important that we are all different parts of the same body working together, and what would be the problem if we were all the same?
• In this mindset, what are some ways that even local congregations can work together for the advancement of the Kingdom?

Read Acts 2:42-47. In what specific ways do you see unity of believers taking place? 

• While we are not able to do all of these things practically with all believers, in what ways do you think we can do this with the believers around us?
• What do you think the benefits are of fellowshipping with other believers, even those that are not a part of our church?
• Why do you think the unity of the disciples led people to being saved?
