Welcome to the Family

"The love that is shared is not because of Community Church.  The love that is shared through Community Church is out of response to the love that God has given us in Christ.  We love because we were first loved by Him."

Welcome to Community Church.  If you are part of our family, then I hope this serves as a reminder of who Community Church is and that the truth of these words rings true.  If you are not familiar with Community, I hope that these words give you a small insight into the beautiful family that is this church.

Community Church exists to love.  We desire to love each other through our time together and our care for one another.  We genuinely enjoy each other’s company and when we get together, the friendships are as deep as a close family bond.  We desire to love our community of West Bend and Washington County through support programs, such as Ruby’s Food Pantry, Family Promise, our annual Free Rummage Event, and our support of the Washington County Volunteer Center.  These programs allow us to support our community in practical ways and affirm to all that they are never alone.

The love that is shared is not because of Community Church.  The love that is shared through Community Church is out of response to the love that God has given us in Christ.  We love because we were first loved by Him. We love because when we were fully unlovable, God loved us. We love because we know the pain of life, but we now know the hope of the future.  Community Church exists to make Christ known. This is not a job or a requirement but a privilege. In fact, it is not merely a privilege, but rather a response. A response to the life-giving work of God given to us through Jesus Christ.  We desire to bring that knowledge of Christ to West Bend, Jackson, Kewaskum, Slinger, Hartford, Allenton, Campbellsport, and all the way to our mission efforts in Romania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and the Middle East.

Our intention with this blog is to provide a deeper knowledge of God and His transformative power through Christ.  In coming posts, this blog will tackle topics that are culturally relevant, applicable to our lives, and provoke critical thinking from a Christ-centered perspective.  If you have specific topics that you would like addressed, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.

If you visit Community, we hope you will be greeted well.  We want you to enjoy the singing. Our aim is that you will be engaged by the message.  We dedicate ourselves to serving you well and hope that you can see our hearts of love. While we hope that all of those are true, those are merely secondary to our purpose.  In all these things, we need you to see Christ. We want you to have our hope, our joy, our peace, our comfort, our contentment, our love, but those are only possible in Christ.  We do not desire to impress you with who we are, but we very much want to impress upon you who Christ is. In Him, we are found. In Him, we are free. In Him, we love.

If you are part of the family, I hope that you agree with these thoughts.  I hope you will continue and even expand your love of Christ so that we may expand our efforts and support in the ways we pour out our love on others.  If you are not familiar with Community, I would encourage you to stop by and visit. Enjoy the warmth, experience the love, and we will pray that you leave grounded in Christ.
